Booking your Beach session, Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, Outer Banks

Hello beach goers!    Welcome to the Outer Banks and the Crystal Coast.   The water is already warm,  and the surf is right.  The weather is….well, a little finicky.  It can rain, storm, be sunny, a clear – all on the same day!

I have had increased inquiries of beach sessions each week and  I have noticed that many clients contact me the same week they are staying at the beach in their rentals.   You know I would love to photograph your beach portraits!    However, if it is possible, it would be best if you try to find your photographer a couple of weeks ahead.   I try to allott TWO days during the week for your session, one that will act as a back-up, in case the weather doesn’t cooperate.   Also, it’s easier to plan ahead and find you a good location for your particular needs, but also it’s to make sure I’m actually available that week.    Thanks and I see you out there!

Emerald Isle family event session, Saturday April 11th.

Wow!  Did we luck out with the weather!   It was cloudy but 75F…and the day before and the day after was much colder, so the Gods were certainly smiling upon us that day.   What a fun session.  This was my largest family session I’ve done but it was SO much fun!   5 families,  20 people total.   Emerald Isle near the pier.  The clouds were gorgeous too.

I have so many pictures to sort out and edit, but here is one of  my  favorite shots from the event.

I’m starting to get booked for spring and summer….meanwhile…some more of my children

Things are moving quickly now when spring kicks in and I’ll be busy probably every weekend.  So I am going to take this moment to post more pictures of my own children, in our front and backyard!    Shooting my own kids also lets me experiment with different post processing effects in Photoshop.   As most of you probably know by now, photographs aren’t coming out of the camera looking like this ;P

What’s fun for me is to make the photos a little modern vintage.  In general, I don’t process my client’s photos this way but stay with more “normal” colors but if you like the vintage look, feel free to ask me to fix that for your photos!

Happy Birthday Baby “J”!!

I went on Wednesday to photograph little J.  and his mom told me his 1st birthday is today.  We had a good session, and I found lots of personal favorites which I will happily share with you all.  He was a happy little trooper, and didn’t mind the camera one bit. Cute as a button! Look at those eyes.

Since it was bright and sunny outside, we shot a lot inside, which works very well if you have rooms with little clutter and big windows.  Little J’s home was great to use for this session!

My daughter is soon a toddler

I feel a bit emotional about my last baby’s graduation to toddlerhood. She’s such a precious little baby, but she’s quickly growing up to be a little girl. She will be one year old in mid May, but she’s almost walking.

A mommy & me photo, which I don’t have too many of since I’m the photographer of the family! I set up the camera and my husband pulled the trigger. ;-)
